This was supposed to be in reply to AthenaPower's comment. For some reason it posted it like a regular one...

Sorry if this seems nitpicky, but I was reading through all of these comments and one thing struck me in this one... the love that we receive from God is not at all deserved. We are no where near being worthy of His love. It is only through the His beautiful grace that we can share eternity with Him.

Well, objective truth is the complete antithesis of religion. I am more likely to become supreme ruler of the world (and it is on my to do list) than Christianity is to find any shred of evidence for its docrine. Also, studying classics, my professors are quite conservative. But let's not get all theological or dogmatic (stances that I will accept my belligerent first post did incite!). I'm sure we can agree that one good thing religion has given us is its sublime music.

As a university student(per your page) who, one hopes, values science and objective truth--what is the empirical evidence for that alleged world view? Mormon propaganda? The Marxist ramblings of professors who still can't accept the fall of Communism, and insist the educated must all be Leftist and fashionably atheist?
jismith1989 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Probably. But then that's how the rest of the world views Catholics too (if we modify '19thC' to '1stC').

My,my have things changed in (formerly) Catholic Spain in the palace of his "Most Catholic Majesty" Felipe II, no less. Aren't good Catholics supposed to regard Mormons as a nutty cult founded by a 19th C. con-man who had delusions of grandeur?

I don't claim to know what Jesus would or wouldn't have done. But if there is ANY message to the Sermon on the Mount it is that no matter who and what you are-you will be loved and you are definitiely worthy of this love!I can't understand in the slightest how people can still condemn other ways of living and be such unbelievably big cowards and abdicate one's responsibility for this massive intolerance to Jesus and claim that He would have said so!INTOLERANCE is the major sin of today!

Cont-Everyone is invited...unfortunately, some decline, by virtue of not going to God and submitting to His ways. I fight everyday to be a better person and to throw away the worldliness that I have come to know and live at times. We are all sinners, but we all must know that in order to live with God in heaven, we have to believe Jesus is our Savior and we have to reject sin with all of our might.
